Rochester, NY -- (ReleaseWire) -- 12/24/2014 --"Infected with the Epstein Barr Virus (EBV)? We recommend taking Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR." - Greg Bennett, CBCD

A new study from Australia reported that gay teens tested positive for strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV) that can lead to either genital warts or anal cancer. "Researchers already knew that HPV infections are common among gay and bisexual men, but less was known about infection rates in younger age groups ... for the new study, Huachun Zou at the Melbourne School of Public Health and colleagues recruited 200 adolescent males, ages 16 to 20, who were attracted to other males. The participants were never vaccinated against HPV and had few sexual encounters. At four points over one year, the researchers collected three swabs from each participant's penis, mouth and anal canal to test for HPV. Over that period, they found 48 definite anal HPV infections, 10 penile infections and no mouth infections. The researchers say the infection rates would mean that among 100 gay and bisexual males in that age range, there would be 57 new anal infections every year." (1) The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) recommends that HPV infected individuals take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR against the latent HPV virus. The formula of these natural antiviral supplements was shown to reduce HPV symptoms in two separate post-marketing clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines.

The formula of Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR formula is effective against the HPV and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, "individuals infected with the HPV…reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR." (2) The study authors also wrote that "we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms." (2)

Both products can be ordered online on the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR websites.

About Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR
Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.

Study authors estimated that "there is a 50 percent chance of HPV passing from a man's penis to the anal canal of another. The risk of HPV going from anal canal to penis was lower, however." (1) Dr. Huachun Zou one of the study authors, wrote that "the high incidence of HPV infections and the high probability of the virus being transmitted suggests a high vaccination rate is needed among young gay and bisexual men to achieve the same reduction in infections, genital warts and precancerous growths found among heterosexual individuals." (1) The CBCD reminds the public that while the HPV vaccine may prevent infection with certain diseases, it does nothing for those who are already infected.

As the Gardasil website points out "Gardasil may not fully protect everyone, nor will it protect against diseases caused by other HPV types or against diseases not caused by HPV. Gardasil does not prevent all types of cervical cancer, so future cervical cancer screenings will be important for your daughter. Gardasil does not treat cervical cancer or genital warts. Like other vaccines your child may have received, Gardasil works best when given before there is any contact with the relevant HPV types." (See the Gardasil website) (3)

Are there drugs that work against the HPV virus?

"There are no drugs approved against the HPV. Current treatments include procedures, such as cryotherapy, conization, and the Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP). These procedures use liquid nitrogen, a surgical knife (scalpel), a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser, or electrical current to remove the abnormal growths caused by the HPV. These growths include cells that harbor the active virus. The procedures do not target cells with the latent virus. Since they do not remove the latent virus, these procedures only produce a temporary remission." (2) In contrast, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR were designed to target the latent HPV.

"We recommend that individuals infected with HPV take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR against the latent virus. The formula of these natural antiviral products was designed to help the immune system target the virus while in a latent state." – Greg Bennett, CBCD
