Did you know that approximately one of every two questions on the GED test contains a map, chart, or graph. The ability to read and understand these visual message, is graphic literacy. On the GED test these graphics include: Table, Bar graphs, Line graph, Drawings, Diagram, Flow charts, Time lines, Editorial cartoons, Maps, Photographs, and Posters. For our students to be sucessful, we must teach this skill.

Digital Citizenship: Responsible Behavior in a Digital Society
Even though students are comfortable using technology, they may not be using it appropriately. Sadly, few social guidelines have been developed that help guide us to use digital technologies. What's appropriate and what's not when using technology. This workshop will introduce you to the concept of becoming a Digital Citizen and introduce the Nine Elements that make up a Digital Citizenship program. We'll discuss issues like proper email etiquette, communicating in a digital society, buying and selling on the Internet, legal issues dealing with copyright and plagiarism and many others. Come prepared to learn!
