The latest Australia Oil & Gas Report from BMI forecasts that the country will account for 3.22% of Asia Pacific regional oil demand by 2014, while providing 6.72% of supply. Regional oil use of 21.42mn barrels per day (b/d) in 2001 reached an estimated 25.84mn b/d in 2009. It should average 26.39mn b/d in 2010, then rise to around 29.59mn b/d by 2014.

Clenergen Corporation signed a supply contract with Ankur Energy Technologies Private Limited for Ankur to build and install turnkey gasification biomass power plants, known as gasifiers, at designated sites in the Philippines which Clenergen is to install, own and manage pursuant to an agreement Clenergen entered into earlier this year with the National Power Corporation of The Philippines. The gasifiers will convert wood chips into carbon-neutral electricity. The supply contract also provides for Ankur to supply other proposed plants Clenergen intends to install, own and manage in its global operations, including those plants subject to exclusive sales and distribution rights in Guyana, Ghana, Zambia, Ethiopia and Libya. Clenergen also has been preferential delivery and pricing arrangements for its projects originating from the Philippines, Russia and South Africa.
