Exposure to high levels of indoor toxic mold or black mold can lead to a multitude of illnesses or symptoms, especially in children, the elderly or those with compromised immune systems. If you, your family members or coworkers are affected by what seems like respiratory trouble in your commercial, residential or rental property, and you see something that looks like mold, you may want to have the air in that area tested. Some persons are affected by mold of low levels, some only by high levels, and some not at all. However, even for those not allergic, the mycotoxins produced by toxic mold can cause medical issues.

Underground heating oil tanks raise a variety of concerns for homeowners and home buyers. The most common and detrimental issues stem from the oil leaking and contaminating the soil and groundwater, and the costs and risks associated with testing, removing and cleaning up the area. Like all equipment, underground tanks have a limited lifespan and eventually have to be repaired or replaced. For instance, since many home heating oil tanks are made of steel, they are in danger of rusting through the tank shell or the welded seams. One of the most obvious warning signs for a leaking tank is if there is an unexplainable increase in a home's heating oil usage. Bills that have increased drastically from the year before should be met with intense speculation and should be investigated immediately. Easing homeowner concerns, Professional Tank & Environmental announces their underground oil tank removal services in Montgomery County.

This substance is also responsible for an estimated 600 annual deaths resulting from asbestosis. Though the use of asbestos has vastly declined since the discovery of its far reaching health risks in the early 1940's, it continues to linger in some older structures.

Mold exposure to high levels of indoor toxic mold or black mold can lead to a multitude of illnesses and symptoms, especially in children, the elderly or those with compromised immune systems. All California property owners should be diligent about scheduling their annual mold inspection, to get detection, and testing done in a timely fashion. Water leaks and toxic mold growth should be caught early on before the health of residents and employees and the structural integrity of your property is compromised. Toxic black mold is a common term that refers specifically to Stachybotrys chartarum, but individuals can be allergic to any species of mold, whether or not it is toxic, or produces mycotoxins. Toxic black mold is frequently a source of problems because it consumes cellulose, which is richly provided in building materials.

According to the EPA's web page on mold resources, a full one-third to one-half of buildings in America are plagued with excessive dampness. This encourages the growth of bacteria and molds responsible for many cases of asthma as well as a number of allergic reactions. It also fosters the spread of contagions. The vast majority of this moisture and mold is the result of vented, dirt crawlspaces - crawlspaces that are the underlying cause of so many problems that experts in the housing industry call them a "housing epidemic." One problem commonly associated with under the house moisture is that of unwanted insects, which thrive in a damp environment, and use it to springboard into vast populations. For this reason, local pest control company Peeler Environmental recently launched a new service providing crawl space solutions such as assessments, repair, and mold remediation for area homes.
