While Anixa Biosciences (NASDAQ:ANIX) has gained some visibility for their recent work on Covid-19, it's important to understand that that company has some additional compelling assets. Today, I want to discuss their breast cancer vaccine program. I wont discuss all the market size details about breast cancer as most of us know that breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women in the US and throughout the world. The most dangerous type of breast cancer is something called, triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). It is called TNBC because the cancer is negative for hormone receptors as well as Her2neu, a marker for a type of breast cancer. Because it does not have those receptors, TNBC grows rapidly without growth signals provided by the proteins that bind to those receptors. Roughly on quarter of all breast cancers are TNBC, but because of its aggressiveness and lack of good therapies for TNBC, it is the cause of roughly half of breast cancer mortality.

As powerful UIs become more and more defining elements of successful technology, a competitive precedent has been raised for how enterprise companies create and deliver experiences and products to and for their consumers. Kleeen's founding team, with decades of enterprise experience, recognizes that UI and UX have the ability to accelerate a company's growth or, worse, lead to the failure of technology. The team has already released both Angular & React SDKs to accelerate the work of UI engineers—which was self-funded during its launch, but just received its first round of sizable capital to bring automation to UI creation.

Narayan Laksham, founder and CEO of Ultriva, Inc. will write a series of End to End Pull articles highlighting each of the eight requirements. In a recent posting on the company’s blog, Laksham noted the first requirement is the need for a collaborative transactional portal, “End to End, as the name signifies, allows manufacturers to actively collaborate with customers for actual demand and synchronize with suppliers for replenishment. E2E offers a better solution to balancing supply with customer demand through procurement strategies, materials and inventory policies tied to actual demand signals. Many suppliers want to provide sufficient service levels to customers and turn supply replenishment and synchronization into a competitive advantage.”

A major automotive parts manufacturer decided to increase use of Ultriva Software. Currently the company has 80% of its spend in CSP. This will bring the automotive parts company within three months of going live with the implementation. According to the most recent Department of Commerce report, automotive parts consumption is linked to the demand for new vehicles, since roughly 70 percent of U.S. automotive parts production is for Original Equipment (OE) products. The remaining 30 percent is for repair and modification (aftermarket). Suppliers survived the downturn in 2009 and lower their break-even point, and 2014 is expected to be an exception year for the industry. Suppliers are increasing efficiency and lowering their break-even point according to the DOC report, allowing many suppliers to see some profit.

Narayan Laksham, founder and CEO of Ultriva, Inc. recently highlighted why manufacturers should integrate with the demand side to streamline their supply chain. They call this process as “End to End Pull (E2E)” replenishment. Laksham expanded this idea in the company’s blog published recently, “This is clearly a paradigm shift compared to the constant focus on improving the planning or forecasts using better and superior algorithms. The primary goal of the E2E process is to schedule manufacturing production based on customer demand instead of forecasts while raw materials and components usage at the manufacturing facilities should drive replenishment to the upstream supply chain. This is also commonly known as ‘consumption driven replenishment’ or ‘Electronic Kanban loops.’”

Narayan Laksham, founder and CEO of Ultriva, Inc. recently discussed the importance of supply chain embracing lean practices in manufacturing. In a blog posted on the company’s website, Laksham explained, “Lean in its purest form is removal of waste. In today’s world, manufacturing is becoming more competitive than ever with shorter lead times, higher service levels, exploding number of finished goods SKUs, and thinning margins. Over the last twenty years, the focus of lean in manufacturing was concentrated on streamlining the factory floor, aligning of production lines, optimization of space, and standardizing of operating procedures.”

MFRTech.com recently featured Narayan Laksham, CEO of Ultriva, Inc., sharing, “Why the Small Step of Standard Labels is Large.” Laksham has visited many raw material warehouse facilities and common challenges he sees are boxes stacked up to the ceiling, boxes and rolls staged at different locations as well as materials without labels or materials with shipping labels but each one looking different. Laksham noted, “As you navigate through, the people behind the scenes, shop floor, purchasing/procurement, supply chain and IT, you find groups who are charged with distinctly different objectives.”
