Acorn rack announces launch of automatic website creation service
BRISTOL, UK (9/13/2005) -- Acorn Rack (http://www.acornrack.com), a new provider of on-demand automatic website creation solutions, announced today that it has officially launched a public version of its highly anticipated website creation service, a move that will change the current landscape of the web hosting and development industry.
The new service, which is completely free to users at the basic level, gives users the option to instantly and securely create websites, as well as share and exchange design and development tips with fellow web designers and entrepreneurs.
“We are based in the United Kingdom, but our vast developer community includes users from all corners of the globe,” said Olly Culverhouse, server administrator for Acorn Rack. Also contributing to the project was lead developer Chris Hill.
As of September, the site has gained over 2,000 members, mostly from participation in the public testing period.
“Our site has been fortunate to have unprecedented growth in our development period,” said Culverhouse.
According to Acorn Rack’s developers, there is a huge gap in the market for ready-made high powered websites that can be used as a stepping stone to more advanced projects for individuals new to the internet.
“Users can create up to 50 websites on our system,” said Culverhouse. “It’s all done with zero knowledge of HTML or scripting languages.”
The public beta test lasted nearly 2 months, and included the implementation of user suggested features and the removal of software bugs.
Acorn Rack does not expect to charge for its service in the near future, and currently gives free website hosting to all of its users. No private information of its users is sold or distributed to 3rd parties, according to Culverhouse.
