Hurricane Sandy landed in the Tri-State area on October 29, 2012, and the rest is history. As a result of Hurricane Sandy and its impact on the families in the Tri-State area, Bow Tie Portraits created The Rebuilding Memories Project (TRMP). Many families lost precious photos or their photos were damaged in the storm. The Rebuilding Memories Project is partnering with local organizations, groups, houses of worship, volunteers and other photographers to help families continue to rebuild their lives by restoring damaged photographs or allowing families to take new photographs.

Pearls for Creative Healing has kicked off it’s third year of capturing the stories of local survivors for it’s End the Silence Exhibit held each October for domestic violence awareness month. Lisa Trunzo is the founder of Hannah's Homeless, Inc. Hannah's Homeless was first officially registered as a non-profit two years ago. Hannah is the name of Lisa’s daughter that she had 14 years ago when she was homeless. Lisa chose to give her up for adoption because it was the right thing to do for her. Lisa has never forgotten Hannah and has carried that grief with her for a long time. In 2006, Lisa began to feed homeless people in St. Pete and quickly grew passionate about helping homeless people.
