For decades, the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey (CCGNJ) has been helping those battling gambling and alcohol disorders, which are sometimes referred to as addictions, in Trenton as well as the rest of New Jersey. Although their efforts have made significant strides in recent years, the organization has noticed an increasing number of disordered gamblers who admit to having suicidal thoughts on a regular basis. While there are many resources available that help those struggling with self-destructive thoughts and behaviors, connecting those people with the resources they need has proven to be a challenge. Therefore, the CCGNJ is encouraging anyone with a friend, family member, or colleague who is exhibiting suicidal behaviors, to contact 800-GAMBLER for help.
