The CCGNJ Supports Vets Struggling with Disordered Gambling

On November 11th, the country observed Veterans Day, the official U.S. holiday dedicated to honoring the friends, family, and neighbors that have served in the United States Armed Forces. The Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey, along with the rest of the nation, expressed appreciation for veterans' service. The CCGNJ would like to remind the public that veterans can often be especially susceptible to developing a gambling disorder.

The CCGNJ Offers Resources and Support for Disordered Sports Gamblers

Every day, new technological innovations come to light. Often, they impact people's lives for the better, helping them to stay connected to one another and creating previously-unimaginable opportunities. Sometimes, however, they can pose challenges to the public's mental and physical health. The Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey (CCGNJ), stays vigilant, keeping up with technological developments that relate to gambling and incorporating these findings into their understanding of the activity and how they support those struggling with disordered gambling.

The YES Project Receives Grant to Help Runaway and Homeless Youths in Essex County, NJ

LogoIsaiah House's Youths Empowered to Succeed (YES) project was funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services—BASIC Centers grant, to help reduce the number of homeless youths surviving on the streets in Essex County, and to help increase the number of runaway and homeless youths receiving much-needed services to help them reunite with their families; and/or help them stabilize their personal situation by providing shelter, primary health, and mental health care; access to education, job training and job placement, for those who cannot be reunited with their families.
