Nice Cosas, a Latina owned and operated company, has just launched a brand new line of Latino-culture inspired pillows: the Nice Cosas Besties Club.™ It is a unique group of pillows celebrating Mexican culture. Vanessa Sanchez, owner of Nice Cosas, shares, "I love home decor, and am always looking for ways to add touches of Mexican culture to my home. Pillows are my favorite for sprucing up any room. A few years ago, it was difficult to find Latino-culture inspired options, so creating my own became the solution. We designed these pillows to be whimsical and inspired by friendship! The Besties include a little artist, a luchador, a mermaid, a pair of mariachis and more."

Today, Mike Baggz announced his intent to lead a boycott against the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), located on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Recently, concerns have mounted among Black American descendants of chattel slavery in the United States, who feel betrayed by the museum's decision to include the curation of Latinx history within the building. In recent weeks, the NMAAHC posted a nationwide job listing for a Latino curator to further their Latino Studies program, although the Museum's mission states that they focus exclusively on non-Latino Black Americans who are descendants of the chattel slavery that occurred in the United States. The museum was founded on the understanding that the culture and history of African Americans should not be intertwined with that of other ethnic groups, and the inclusion of Latino culture can thus be considered a revision of history.

Author Naeem K. Turner-Bandele may be an outlier, but his progress thus far has not been the result of luck. That is of course unless you define 'luck' as the Roman philosopher, Seneca, did "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."

This election cycle has brought Hispanic and Latino issues to the forefront. Not since George Wallace has there been such blatant and seemingly proud racism exhibited by a major party presidential nominee. Progressives cannot afford to set this one out. All progressives, New Mexico progressives included, need to join together in this election to keep the unthinkable from happening and to support our Hispanic and Latino brothers and sisters.

This allows them a significant edge over the system in getting people out quickly and easily. Their website now supports Spanish speaking residents of LA so they can help even more people.
