(ADR) (NYSE: UMC), a company engaged in the manufacturing of semiconductor products, is marginally higher in mid-day trading today. At last check, UMC was trading 0.98% higher at $2.07 on volume of 827,575, which is a little over a third of the daily average volume of 2.38 million.
UMC has rebounded in the last two trading sessions after falling sharply earlier in the week. The stock tumbled earlier in the week after the company reported its sales for the month of December 2012.
Following the December sales report, Credit Suisse analysts downgraded UMC from Outperform to Neutral.

EnergySolutions Inc. (NYSE: ES), a provider of specialized, technology-based nuclear services to government and commercial customers, is marginally higher in mid-day trading today, extending its gains for the week. ES has risen sharply this week after Energy Capital Partners agreed to acquire the company for $3.75 per share in a transaction valued at $1.1 billion.
ES is currently trading 0.79% higher at $3.84 on volume of 641,233, which is nearly a third of the daily average volume of 1.83 million. The stock has gained more than 11% this week. On Monday, the stock had finished nearly 8.50% higher following news of the acquisition.
